Cobalt Yachts Releases Designs Of First Models
(VONORE, TN -- October 25, 2006) Following the acquisition and conversion
of a 375,000 square-foot manufacturing plant in Vonore, Tennessee
earlier in the year, Cobalt Yachts has been executing its plan to
develop a new range of Express Cruiser Yachts. The first two models
under development are the Cobalt Yacht 45 and the Cobalt Yacht 36.
Cobalt’s first yachts present a striking profile design. While
maintaining Cobalt-specific styling DNA elements that have made Cobalt’s
design such a hallmark over the years, both the 45 and 36 feature
an innovative signature style of bonded side windows extending along
the entire length of their hull sides. Innovation abounds, not just
in exterior styling but in interior design and features as well. With
high-end interiors, complimented by megayacht-standard custom cabinetry,
Cobalt Yachts will be setting new standards for quality, space utilization,
features and workmanship in the 35 to 60ft segment it is targeting.
Designed and engineered to exacting specifications for open water
performance and saltwater durability, every new Cobalt Yacht model
will undergo an elaborate offshore testing and engineering validation
program prior to production start.
Cobalt Yachts has attracted some exceptional industry engineering
talent from a number of reputable yacht builders. “Development
of both the 45 and 36 are at an advanced stage, and on schedule for
an early 2007 public launch” said Constantinos K. Constantinou,
President of Cobalt Yachts. “As evidenced by numerous innovative
engineering systems and solutions, our Development team has been doing
a fabulous job of designing and engineering these exciting new models
from a clean sheet”.
“We can’t wait to present our first two Yachts” said
Pack St. Clair, Chairman of Cobalt. “We feel confident in our
ability to live up to Cobalt’s reputation in offering a quality
product for the discriminating boater wishing to own something very
special”.
Cobalt Yachts is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fiberglass Engineering,
Inc. (DBA Cobalt Boats). The company employs over 850 associates at
its Cobalt Boats Neodesha, KS base. The Cobalt Yacht facility in Vonore,
TN currently numbers 65 associates.
Yacht Club Sales & Service in Coeur d’Alene, ID, is looking
forward to receiving some of the first Cobalt Yachts to be distributed
in the country in June 2007.
